やたらに野田村の情報が集まってきます。今日は、こんなメールが転送されてきました。
Please find attached "Tohoku Bulletin" from the editor of Cultural News at添付されていた"Tohoku Bulletin"というレターには、Los Angeles to whom I gave a lift and to whom I attended and showed
the devastation in Iwate.
We would be very much happy and it would be appreciated if you could
share this bulletin with your friends.
野田村の外国語指導助手（Assistant Foreign Language Teacher） Georgia Robinson さんの文章が載っています。
「結び」はこうでした。
Despite everything, the new school year had started on time (of earlier読むのが面棟Lい人のために、英検５級の私が後ろの段を、怪しく訳します。April), so I am back in the classroom teaching English once again. It feels
a little surreal to look out from the hill the school is built on, and see
half of the village gone.
But I no longer feel sad when I see the tsunami’s damage.
Instead I feel the strength of the Japanese people. Who keep sharing their
smiles and jokes, and most importantly,never give up!
I am proud to call Noda, and Japan, home!
津波被害を見た時の寂しさはもうない。*****そのかわり、
笑顔とジョークを分かち合い、そして何より絶対にあきらめない日本の人たちの強さを感じている。
私は、野田村をそして日本を「ふるさと」と呼ぶことを誇りに思っている。
昨日、野田中学校の運動会の写真をご覧いただきました。
今日いただいたTohoku Bulletinには、運動会が行われた５月14日の２週間前、４月30日の校庭の写真がついていました。
仮設住宅の建設が始まっています。
（私は、このグランドの端っこで「運動会をやろう！」と決断できるだろうか…）
ニュージーランドから来ているRobinsonさんが誇りにするのも無理がありません。
おそるべし！野田村・野田中学校 です。

今日の午後に、ある会議に出ていました。
被災地からご出席された委員の方がこう仰いました。
「形あるものをすべて失った。でも、人間の尊厳を失った人は一人もいない。」
I am proud to call Iwate, and Japan, home! です。がんばりましょうね、皆さん。
